A Full-Circle Journey Back to Seward

For Kailey Weichel, PT, DPT, returning to Enhanced Physical Therapy wasn’t just a career decision — it was coming home.

Kailey first joined Enhanced Physical Therapy in 2018 as a rehab tech while attending Concordia University.

As a Nebraska native and student-athlete, she was drawn to Enhanced PT and the community right away. “I knew I loved rural health,” she says. “I wanted to give back to a community that shaped me, supported me and felt like home.”

Her days spent assisting owner Andy Miner, PT, clinic manager Tony Hentzen, PT and the rest of the team helped Kailey gain hands-on experience and allowed her passion for patient care to take root.

Kailey’s career path continued at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2025 — but the relationships she built in Seward stayed with her.

Building a Career Where She First Found Her Calling

After graduation (and just days after her wedding!), Kailey returned to Enhanced Physical Therapy as a full-time therapist.

“This clinic was one of my very first calls after passing my boards,” says Kailey. “The staff and the Seward community supported me during undergrad and cheered me on through PT school. Coming back felt so right. It was really a full-circle moment.”

Kailey and her husband, who farms in the Seward/York County area, now call the community home. “It’s special to build my career in the town where I met my husband and where my PT journey first started.”

Why Kailey Loves Serving Patients at Enhanced PT

Kailey is passionate about making every person she treats at the clinic feel seen and supported.

“As a physical therapist, I strive to be someone who makes everybody feel like a somebody,” she shared. “Enhanced truly fits the morals I live by. The most rewarding part back then and now is the people and the growth.”

She loves being part of a clinic that values teamwork, collaboration and genuine connection. Whether helping patients meet their goals or watching the team evolve together, Kailey finds purpose every step of the way.

Kailey’s Favorite Memories at Enhanced PT

Some of Kailey’s most cherished memories come from her rehab tech years: decorating the clinic for the seasons (something she still does today!) or joking with her boss, Tony, about how she has been with Enhanced PT longer than he has.

She also fondly remembers participating in a staff photo shoot for the website as a student — first being included as part of the team, then slipping on an Enhanced Physical Therapy T-shirt to play the role of a “patient.”

“I always felt included,” she says. “It truly felt like family — and still does.”

Compassion, Community and Care

Kailey’s journey from Concordia student-athlete, to rehab tech, to Doctor of Physical Therapy reflects the heart of Enhanced PT: growing clinicians from within and serving patients with genuine community-centered care.

We’re so glad to have Kailey back at Enhanced Physical Therapy, right where her journey began.
